Nothing but Ups and Downs...

Man, what a week...and its only MONDAY. Where do I begin?

Last Wednesday, I left town to pick up my cousin Beeto for our one day trip to Orlando to visit Harry Potter Park aka, Islands of Adventure: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios, Florida. (Phew-mouthful) As soon as my car leaves the limits of my town, I get a call about a job for Friday. UGH, which I then have to pull over and figure out how to schedule both jobs, as I had another one on hold for the upcoming week. Finally, I work it all out so I can take on both jobs and continue on my merry way. This trip to HPP would really have to be a one day ordeal, in order for me to get back home Thursday to start work Friday.
Picked up my cousin and we headed straight out and made it to Otown in about 4 hours. Got to the hotel, crashed for the night and woke up first thing to get there as soon as the park opened at 9 am. As the day goes on, we have our ups and downs on all of the awesome rides at Islands of Adventure, starting with Spiderman and then getting soaked in Jurassic park at 10am (as I swore you didn't get wet on that ride-oops). Finally made it to the new Hogwarts ride and we went on as Single Riders, so we only waited in line less than 10 minutes! Victory, we got to ride together any way and it was AWESOME! I had ridden the ride in 2010 before the opening of the park and it broke down mid-ride....so as you can imagine, I felt robbed of the ultimate HP experience. Not this time!
Right after the ride, I get a call that the job I had taken had been moved to February, so I didn't start Friday. (Down) Then I get a call from another stylist that heard I was free, so I could work with her Friday to Monday. (Up) Later, she cancelled Friday through Sunday and only work Monday. (Down)
With no hurry to get back home, Beto and I took our time and got as much out of the park as we could. Especially the roller coasters and Beto's pale face after riding them!
We headed out of Orlando around 7 and leisurely headed down I-75, making a few stops along the way. I ended up staying the night at my cousin's because by the time we arrived, it was almost midnight and I did not want to cross Alligator Alley in pitch blackness with only 4 hours of sleep the previous night.

Finally home, it turned out that my job Monday was cancelled as well (Down).

On Saturday, I watched the movie Red State, which was directed by Kevin Smith and I have to say that I liked it. It was pretty intense, and like always the fanatical Christians are portrayed so well by all of the actors...so well that I wanted to kick all of their asses.

Watch the Trailer:

Sunday morning woke up at 7am to the sound of my mom's call to tell me that my Uncle David passed away sometime in the night. My uncle has been in the hospital since the day before Thanksgiving, fighting an aggressive cancer that had taken all over his body. While I am thankful that he is resting and pain free finally, I'm so sad for my Aunt Rita, who is now alone. Yes, she has us (her family), but she and my uncle were the epitome of the "together" couple. In a time when relationships and marriage are so fickle, they were the prime example of "Til death do us part." It just sucks that the part was so soon. I always remember my uncle as someone who was very concerned with everyone else in the family. Always asked you how you are, how your sisters are, and if you had eaten. Rest in Peace Uncle David, we will all miss you.

So, guess we'll see how the rest of the week plays out.
Thats all I got guys.
