I was all excited to purchase myself a copy of the supposedly wonderful movie The Fall, when I heard that my sister had rented it on blu ray and I would get to watch it on her super plasma.
Well, wonderful movie...not so wonderful on blu ray super plasma. :( The image was so crisp and so clear that it took away from the "magic" of the film. It made the smoke effects and mirrors that much more obvious and gave the whole film a Colombian soap opera look. I hated it. I tried to get used to it and I simply couldn't. All this succeeded in doing was making me want to go out and watch the DVD on my soon-to-be useless old school TV that will become obsolete. :(
Again, excellent movie, but blu ray takes away what little is left to movie magic, and if filmmakers don't start upping the ante, well, its just going to suck from now on.
